UKM Receives Visit from Jakarta Urban Knowledge Hub

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) hosted Prof. (HC) Ir. Bambang Susantono, Dean of the Jakarta Urban Knowledge Hub, at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Sufian Jusoh โ€” a reciprocal visit following the Vice-Chancellor’s trip to Jakarta on 24 June 2026.

According to UKMโ€™s official post, the meeting explored potential collaboration in sustainable urban development, smart mobility, climate change, urban innovation, community development, knowledge transfer and talent development, supporting broader ASEAN sustainability aspirations.

Both parties also discussed potential Professional Certificate programmes in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), aimed at strengthening professional competencies and organisational capabilities in Malaysia and Indonesia.

This collaboration reflects the growing importance of regional partnerships in developing smarter, more sustainable and resilient cities. It also highlights the role of knowledge exchange, technology and talent development in shaping the future of urban development across ASEAN.
